unable to find time capsule on windows

Hello, I have a HP laptop running Windows 11 Pro 22H2, and I wanted to use my time capsule on my laptop. However, when I run airport utility, it says it can't find any airport, yet I am on the same network and right next to it. I don't have any firewall active. Yet I am able to access it through airport utility by inputting the IP address and the password, and that lets me see the settings, but not modify them. I have reinstalled Airport Utility many times. But when I try to find the time capsule on my mac, it shows up in Finder under the 'shared' tab and in Airport utility, on the same network, and at the same distance.

I'd greatly appreciate any help, thanks.

The Time Capsule requires SMBv1 type communications, and Microsoft dropped SMBv1 support with the intro of Windows 10 for security issues, so that might have something to do with the problem here.

Not recommended, but you might be able to temporarily enable SMB1 on Windows by Googling for suggested articles, like the example just below:

Apple Airport Time Capsule as a wired backup device Hello I want to use my Apple Airport Time Capsule purely as a Time Machine wired backup device. I have given it a static IP address on my wireless network and plugged its WAN port in to my switch. Wireless is turned off and Bridge mode is off. Tried the LAN ports, same result. My MacBook Pro can ping it wirelessly (wireless to to an access point then wired to the same switch the Airport is plugged into). However, the Time Machine program can't see the Airport so I can't select the disk. Any ideas ? BRgds/Alan

How do i reconnect my Airport Time Capsule to my wifi? I have moved house and have been unable to reconnect my Apple Time Capsule (2015) to my new wifi In Airport Utility, it states connected to the internet but there is no Time Capsule visible The Time Capsule is flashing yellow In my previous house, I connected via my broadband router - is that compulsory? I thought I would just be able to connect the Time Capsule wirelessly to the same network and back up to the Mac Thank you

Time Capsule cannot be accessed but Time Machine connects Ok I have a time capsule to which I backup to via Time Machine. This is working Ok, but I noticed yesterday that the Airport Utility app was saying the capsule cannot be found (Time machine still backs up to it). Today the capsule isn't showing in the Airport app at all (but Time Machine is still backing up to it). If I look in Finder > Network it shows the capsule cannot be connected to. Slightly puzzled to say the least? What could have gone wrong?
