Field experiences are a component of all teacher education programs at the University of Central Florida. Whether you are looking for opportunities to explore the education profession, volunteer in the classroom, become a tutor or complete assigned coursework in a classroom setting, you can locate a field experience or service-learning opportunity through two platforms: OCPS’ Samaritan and UCF’s Handshake. Field experiences vary by course and semester. Additionally, students have opportunities to engage in UCF-led initiatives throughout their program.
At the School of Teacher Education, field experiences are also embedded within our courses. Students can choose from an array of opportunities to expand their learning outside the classroom. Have questions? Contact our Office of Immersive Experiences.
Reading Clinics and Camps
The school offers reading clinics and camps throughout the year, supervised by reading and language arts faculty. Elementary-age children are paired with undergraduate or graduate education students for individualized support in developing their reading, writing and thinking abilities.
